ComBioTES Online Workshop: The Agenda is Here

The agenda for the upcoming ComBioTES online workshop, titled “Designing PCM TES for Domestic Space Heating & Hot Water: A Comprehensive Overview,” has been officially released.

The workshop will feature insightful sessions led by industry experts, covering a wide range of topics related to Phase Change Material Thermal Energy Storage (PCM TES). The agenda includes the following sessions:

Agenda Overview:

  • Introduction

Arnaud Bruch, the ComBioTES project coordinator from CEA, will kick off the event with a brief introduction to the project and its objectives.

  • Session 1: Thermal Energy Storage (TES) Specifications & Requirements

This session will dive into the specifications and requirements of Thermal Energy Storage, including specifications for electricity markets, hot water (DHW) and space heating (SH) applications, phase change materials (PCMs), and Energy Management System (EMS) specifications.

  • Session 2: PCM TES Definition, Sizing, and Prototype Engineering

Learn about the definition of PCM TES, how to size it for different applications, and the engineering behind the prototypes.

  • Session 3: Energy Management System (EMS)

This session will explore how Energy Management Systems integrate with PCM TES to optimise energy use and efficiency.

  • Session 4: Demonstration of the MUSIC Prototype

Attendees will get a first-hand look at the MUSIC Prototype, showcasing the real-world application of PCM TES in domestic heating and hot water systems.

  • Open Discussion

The workshop will conclude with an open discussion where participants can ask questions and exchange ideas with experts in the field.
