ComBioTES project

The ComBioTES project, an EU-funded Horizon 2020 research and innovation project, has developed its first set of training tutorials. These tutorials aim to provide foundational knowledge on the project’s mission: developing bio-based thermal energy storage solution for heating, hot tap water, and cooling applications in buildings.

ComBioTES Training activities

The ComBioTES training activities will be realised in the following domains:

Tutorials – the tutorials are designed and developed to provide targeted knowledge in the area of energy storage technologies in line with the latest development in the ComBioTES project.
Training workshop – the training will be organised online for energy managers and professionals, highlighting the progress and initial results of the ComBioTES project.

First Set of Tutorials – Foundations are covering following topics:

ComBioTES general introduction – key facts & objectives, context, experimental aspects, impact
ComBioTES key topics:
- Specifications and requirements
- Heat and cold storage system design
- Bio-based PCM development
- Energy Management System
- Demonstration of the storages
- Techno-economic, environmental assessment and market analysis

Second Set of Tutorials – Latest Results are covering the following aspects:

- Versatile TES – Manufacturing and results
- MUSIC TES – Manufacturing and results
- Techno-economic, environmental assessment & market analysis

Training workshops

These tutorials have been presented in online workshops organised for energy managers and professionals. The recordings of these sessions are available below for you to watch and revisit.
