ComBioTES Project Update

We are thrilled to share the latest developments in the ComBioTES project.

The POLYTES test loop has been successfully built, marking a key milestone in the project. This infrastructure is designed to test the storage system.

The Versatile Thermal Energy Storage (TES) system’s manufacturing process is complete, and scientific characterization has begun at the CEA, a leader in energy research.

Initial tests of water/ice behaviour during the charge and discharge phases of the TES system have been successful. These tests validated the instrumentation of both the TES and POLYTES loop, and the results were promising. The data collected opens new avenues for further experimentation and guides the next steps in the development of this technology.

Next, the thermal performance of the Versatile TES will be tested in China by the Institute of Electrical Engineering (IEE) at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Their expertise will provide a thorough evaluation of the system’s thermal capabilities.

The ComBioTES project continues to make significant progress, and we are excited about its potential impact on the future of thermal energy storage. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue our work in this important field.
